Enduro and trials rider Tom Knight has returned to Noble’s Hospital’s Children’s Ward to present a cheque for £6,000 raised through his recent time and observation trial.
Knight, who received care at the ward 20 years ago, said it was “ace” to find that several of the professionals who looked after him back then are still working on the ward and were able to join him for the presentation photo.
The funds, raised through the support of riders and donors, are already being put to good use.
A new sofa for the parents’ kitchen has been ordered, and the team is now gathering quotes for further items to help make the ward feel more comfortable and welcoming for children and families during their stay.
Knight thanked everyone who took part or donated, adding that the £6,000 total will make a meaningful difference to the environment and experience of young patients.
