Castletown came out on top in a tight match at Laxey & District Rifle Range in the latest round of the Rifle Association Winter League, winning 486–482.
On Monday (March 16) evening, Gemma Kermode topped the home team’s scoresheet with her first possible of the campaign, followed by Adrian Cowin on 97.
For the visitors, Rhian Masson continued her good run of form with a ‘ton’ of her own, while Richard Arthur and JP Bridson both posted 97s.
Port St Mary also secured a road victory, beating Douglas 484–465.
Top Gun
Ben Kelly and Tom Pirson were the match’s joint top scorers with 98 apiece, with Ashley Gardner close behind on 97. For the hosts, Sam Jones and Dave Humphrey both posted 96.
Sulby proved too strong for visitors Sandsiders, winning 483–447. Home captain Mark Cain chalked up 98, with Julian Teare and Pete Faragher both scoring 97, while junior Lizzie Radcliffe set a new personal best of 96.
Jean Quaye was the visitors’ top gun with 98.
