Charities Benefit From Viking Races

Despite breezy conditions and persistent drizzle, the 2025 World Championship Viking Longboat Races, in association with International Financial Group Limited (IFGL), saw fierce competition and generous charitable donations.

IFGL, the event’s main sponsor for over 25 years, presented cheques totalling £3,600 to the nominated charities of winning teams.

Sudha Thakur of IFGL joined competitors for the presentation, marking a milestone of over £65,000 donated by the company to Manx charities since the partnership began.

Chairman of Peel Viking Longboats, Nigel Rawlinson, expressed gratitude to IFGL, presenting Sudha Thakur with a framed artwork by Manx artist Juan Moore, The Age of the Sea Kings, donated by the Isle of Man Post Office.

Each team also received a presentation pack for their chosen charity.
