Beach Buddies is looking to secure long-term continuation of its beach bins project.
The project started shortly after the charity was founded in January 2006, with 54 bins placed at prominent beach locations around the Manx coast.
The charity has since won numerous environmental awards across the world, including invitations to address universities in the USA.
In Trondheim in Norway, Beach Buddies won the Energy Globe world award for its ‘inspirational and unique’ education programme in schools.
The provision of bins at access points to beaches was described as ‘fundamental’ to the success of the project.
