Parents and carers can now apply for Childcare Credit for the coming academic year, with the payment rising by £128 per child from September.
The annual credit will increase from £4,300 to £4,428, offering additional help with early education and childcare costs.
The Childcare Credit Scheme, introduced two years ago to replace the Pre‑School Credit Scheme, provides support for parents of children who turn three or four during the academic year in which they apply.
Education Minister Daphne Caine MHK said childcare costs “can be a real pressure for families”, adding that the latest uplift will give parents “more support to help cover the cost of early education and childcare”.
She encouraged eligible families to apply as soon as possible.
