Children’s Ward Secures Additional Monitors 

The Children’s Ward at Noble’s Hospital has gained two additional telemetry monitors.

The new equipment, generously purchased by Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare Trust, totalled nearly £40,000.

The Ward will benefit from additional telemetry to provide continuous monitoring and safe care for children admitted to the ward.

The central monitoring system will be linked up to the main nurse’s station and onto removable devices allowing staff to monitor children at all times on and off the ward. 

Additional Monitors

Additional telemetry will give staff the ability to manage cardiac patients on-Island and increase the amount of beds that are visible at any one time.

Telemetry offers many benefits, including real-time and automated data collection, which improves decision-making. It can also alert clinicians to a sudden or unusual change in activity.

In addition, it allows staff to focus on other medical duties without the need for constant supervision within a bedroom.

Continuous monitoring includes either cardio-respiratory monitoring and/or pulse oximetry monitoring and can assist clinicians to identify rapid changes in condition.
