Yet another incredible run by triple Island Games gold medallist, Christa Cain, saw her placing second overall in yesterday’s Half Marathon.
It is the highest place ever achieved by a female runner in the event, previously fifth by Gemma Astin in 2023.
Christa’s time of 1:15:16 was a new women’s course record, beating Gemma’s time from two years ago, and was also a new Half Marathon personal best.
The race was won in 1:14:45 by Stephen Campbell of Liverpool Harriers, but Christa had him in her sights all the way.
In third place was Dave Bignell with 1:17:12.
