Castletown’s Nigel Christian has been crowned Open Shoot Champion, winning The Homan Cup for the second time.
The Open Shoot, held last month, is a three-card postal competition shot on competitors’ home ranges, with aggregate scores deciding the winner.
Christian had struggled to get over 96 during the early rounds of the Winter League.
Match Bullets
Like most shooters, he made several tweaks and adjustments to his rifle in search of the perfect setup, even switching ammunition from Lapua Center-X to the British-made Eley Match.
“The Match bullets feel like they have more zap,” Christian commented.
The changes clearly paid off, helping him regain a trophy he first won in 2022.
