The team behind re-universe, winners of the CleanTech Isle of Man Innovation Challenge 2024, is returning to the island as their reuse system moves from early trials into full delivery.
Their recognised work showed that reuse can be simple, scalable and driven by real‑time data.
This next phase shifts focus from pilots to building practical, island‑wide infrastructure for reusable cups and food containers, digital tracking that removes friction for customers, and the foundations of a connected reuse network.
Working in association with Mastercard, the team will demonstrate how smart payment integration, behavioural insight and measurable impact reporting can make reuse the easy default across cafés, workplaces, venues and major events.
Local businesses, policymakers and sustainability leaders are invited to a public session at NOA, Santander Work Café, Douglas, on Tuesday, March 10, from 5pm to 7pm, with demonstrations of how deposit systems work in practice and one‑to‑one meetings available.
