Coast 2 Coast Raises Over £7000 For Charity

Nearly 500 walkers helped raise over £7,000 for charity by participate in the Sight Matters Coast 2 Coast walk.

The annual Sight Matters Coast 2 Coast Walk, sponsored by Conister Bank, proved to be a resounding success again this year.

Over 490 walkers came together to support the Isle of Man’s blind and visually impaired community.

Coast 2 Coast

Participants of all ages and backgrounds tackled the scenic 12-mile route from Douglas to Peel.

Among the walkers was a 95-year-old participant, who exemplified endurance and determination – as well as the accessibility and inclusivity the walk prides itself on.

Also taking part was a remarkable individual who completed treatment for cancer one month before the race took place.

The resilience and positivity of walkers such as these, as well as many others, added a special significance to the day, reminding all of us that anything is possible.

Sight Matters

Several Sight Matters members, all of who live with serious visual impairment, took part in the walk.

Families with young children and dogs were out in force as well, including first time participant seven-year-old Millie Wolter who walked the 12 miles raising £229.

Despite the less-than-ideal weather, spirits remained high with walkers determined to complete the journey, sharing smiles, encouragement, and a sense of community throughout the day.
