In July 2023, the Commissioners said that “as well as providing a range of new leisure, health and community facilities for all ages Island-wide, the complex will create in the region of 25 local jobs”.
This follows on from the announcement in February 2023 that the project had gone over budget and was then projected to cost around £7.5m.
Cassi McAllister, the centre manager, said in November that she’s excited to be welcoming people to the new facility.
She says the new centre will be able to give smaller sports the opportunity to have a ‘top class’ facility.
