Castletown Town Commissioner says it has returned rubbish to a business which tried to leave it next to a litter bin.
Fortunately it said the company left pieces of rubbish that made it easy to track to its source.
The authority said: “The Commissioners offer an on-request waste collection service provided under contract for commercial customers which attracts a fee according to the weight of waste collected and number and size of bins used.
“Customers for the disposal costs in accordance with Isle of Man Government’s ‘User Pays’ policy.
“Commercial waste should not be placed in the towns public litter bins. Where commercial waste can be easily traced back to a business, as was the case in this instance, it will be returned to the originator for appropriate disposal.”
