A man cycling to the Paralympics in Parish is hoping to raise money for a mental health charity in memory of his mum.
Darren Lewin is due to leave the island this morning, stopping off in Guernsey on the way before carrying on to the French capital.
He said: “I want to do this cycle for isle listen to remember my mum who sadly took her own life on a mental health ward in a hospital in Sutton, South London in the 1980s when i was 7-years of age as well as raising much needed money for Isle Listen to continue their great work on the island helping lots of people with their mental health.”
Darren said he chose to head to Paris to the Paralympics to support Australian para athlete Lauren Parker.
