There’s just over a week remaining to enter the 2025 Creative Writing Competition.
The competition is open to young people aged 6-13 who are asked to write a bedtime story.
The stories judged to be the best, along with any illustrations, from island youngsters will to be included in the “The BIG Book of Magical Manx Tales” which will be printed before Christmas.

There are also cash prizes for the writer of every story that is published.
All sales from “The BIG Book of Magical Manx Tales” will go towards Bridge the Gap and the children’s ward at Noble’s Hospital.
Stories can have a Manx theme and should highlight the importance of one of: kindness, friendship, courage, respect and saving our planet.
The closing date for entries is Friday, October 24 and entries should be emailed to manxman57@live.com or posted to organiser Rob Cowley, 3 Turnberry Avenue, Onchan, IM3 2JS.
Rob is the author of the colourful Manx Bedtime Stories which each promote a positive moral message for young children with themes ranging from the importance of kindness and friendship to wisdom, courage, respect, diversity and inclusion.
