Council Unveils Pulrose Public Spaces Plan

Douglas City Council has revealed plans to transform public open spaces in Pulrose.

The proposals aim to enhance play facilities, promote outdoor wellbeing, and revitalise key green areas for all ages.

Natalie Byron-Teare, chair of the Regeneration and Community Committee, said,: “This is about creating green, accessible and imaginative spaces that serve the people of Pulrose now and into the future.”

Key steps include using youth feedback to shape a new Pulrose play environment and hosting a community co-design event for Pulrose Green.

The existing play area will remain temporarily, with expanded early-years equipment planned.

The council is also working with the NSC to develop the Pulrose Loop and Linear Park for fitness activities, while allowing land near Douglas golf course to naturalise as part of the linear park project.

“We’re particularly pleased to see young people shaping the vision for their own neighbourhood,” said Mrs Byron-Teare. “This is very much a project involving the community, for the community.”
