A man due for sentencing before the Court of General Gaol Delivery has had his case adjourned for one week at the request of the Deemster.

Christopher James Hynes was due to be sentenced for possession of cocaine, he will now be sentenced on Thursday August 8.

Magistrates

The following people have appeared before magistrates this week:

A warrant without bail has been issued for Izabella Goralcyk, 48, of Douglas after she failed to appear for sentencing.
Magistrates considered that the reason given to them for her non-attendance was “not satisfactory”.
She was due to be sentenced for an incident of being drunk and disorderly and one of intimidating a witness.

Ian Ronald Goldsmith has appeared in court charge with one count of assault.
Mr Goldsmith, representing himself, denied the charge and was bailed to his next appearance.

Paul Daniel Kelly, 57, of Douglas, will be sentenced next month for two offences, one of being drunk and disorderly and a second of resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty.
Mr Kelly’s case was listed for mention only this week and his bail was extended to September 5.

Denise Watterson, 53, of Douglas, has denied one charge of theft.
She will next appear before the court for a pre-trial review on September 26.
Bail was granted to her next appearance.

Magistrates have approved a bail application to allow a defendant to go on holiday with his girlfriend.
Anthony Langley, 18, of Douglas, has previously denied charges of assault occasioning GBH and an act against public justice.
Mr Langley is required to report to Police HQ upon his return to the island.
His mother has paid a surety of £500 to allow him to travel on the trip which was booked by his partner’s mother.

Jonathan Fletcher has denied sending threatening emails to an advocate.
The 54-year-old from Douglas has been bailed until his next appearance on September 26.

Conor Clark, 17, of Douglas, Lennon Ballard, 17, of Onchan and a third male who cannot be named due to his age, have appeared charged with assault occasioning previous bodily harm.
The three have been bailed until August 15, no pleas were entered.
