Crogga Limited owes £22,363.60 to the the government, Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson has told Keys.
The question was tabled by MHK Chris Thomas, who sought to clarify if the debt, originally cited in 2024, was still outstanding. Dr Allinson confirmed it was, noting the original invoice was for £59,295.
The debt is formally owed to the DoI and is the only outstanding balance identified following inquiries with various government departments.
However, the minister said he unable to “comment any further on the process or the progress of its recovery”.
Liquidation
Mr Thomas also raised that Crogga UK is in liquidation in the UK and owes money to the North Sea Transition Authority.
He asked if the UK Government had been in contact with the Isle of Man Government regarding the matter, but Dr Allinson said he was “not aware of any approach by the UK Government”.
When asked if Crogga’s financial history would affect its ability to participate in future licence activities and if a required ‘relinquishment report’ held monetary value, the minister described the questions as “fairly hypothetical.”
He stated that any new licence would require Tynwald approval.
