David Receives Governor’s Commendation

Sir John Lorimer has awarded a Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation to David Hoskinson in recognition of his outstanding contribution to education, disability inclusion and community service.

Mr Hoskinson has dedicated more than three decades to supporting children and young people with additional educational needs, playing a pioneering role in the development of inclusive education on the island.

Throughout his career Mr Hoskinson has championed opportunities for young people with disabilities, helping to establish both Riding for the Disabled and Sailing for the Disabled charities and supporting students to participate in the Special Olympics.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr Hoskinson has given many years of voluntary service to a wide range of charitable and community organisations.

His contributions have included service as a Trustee of the Manx Gym, leadership within the Rushen and Western Rotary Club and ongoing volunteer work with Citizens Advice.

His Excellency will present the award to Mr Hoskinson at Government House.
