Peel Lifeboat station welcomed a crew from Newcastle on Saturday.
The Geordie crew are taking their Mersey Class lifeboat 12-20 ‘Leonard Kent’ into retirement and stopped off in Peel on Saturday.
Leonard Kent was the last operational Mersey lifeboat in the RNLI fleet and after visiting crews around the island will be taken to Fleetwood.
Peel’s station was served by a Mersey class lifeboat ‘Ruby Clery’ for nearly three decades, from 1992 until 2019.
The nation said: “The crew from Newcastle came ashore to watch the recovery of Peel’s Shannon class lifeboat.
“Together we enjoyed tea and cake and reminisced about the years of reliable life-saving service the Mersey class lifeboats have given our stations.”
