A full-scale review of the Isle of Man Meat Company’s boardroom structure, director roles and pay framework has been confirmed by the Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Clare Barber said the examination is “planned for April 2026,” in response to questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
The review will conclude a period of nearly two years under the current arrangements.
The announcement comes as the minister detailed the department’s role in setting director pay and admitted that “internal audit has not been engaged in the process” of authorising these payments.
Questions also focused on governance, with the minister confirming the existence of a “conflict-of-interest register” at the government-owned plant.
She outlined that extra payments to directors required sign-off by the chair of the board.
