Hospice Isle of Man has announced the first of its four runners taking on the London Marathon, with Kate Dowling raising an impressive £4,044 in support of the charity.
Kate, who grew up on the Isle of Man and now lives in London, secured the total through a creative fundraising campaign, including a hugely popular festive raffle before Christmas that attracted support from hundreds of people both on and off the island.
She chose to run for Hospice in recognition of the care the organisation provides to local families, and will join thousands of runners on the start line on April 26.
Hospice said it was “incredibly grateful” for Kate’s commitment and fundraising efforts, adding that the charity will be cheering her on throughout her marathon challenge.
Kate is one of four runners representing Hospice in this year’s event, with further profiles to be released in the coming weeks.
