Michael Dunlop made more history as he secured his 30th TT victory in a thrilling Supersport Race.

The win further cements his status as probably the event’s greatest ever racer.

Speaking after the race, Dunlop paid tribute to his team’s efforts: “Obviously the Milwaukee guys really wanted to, you know, made an effort with the Ducati and really wanted me to, they wanted to win a round the TT, and they took all faith on me to have a go and between them and Quattro and Chesham Bones, we had a lovely bike.”

The Northern Irish rider acknowledged the challenges of adapting to new machinery: “It was just hard to get used to the bike because of each one.

“But obviously, the main thing for me is obviously to win for all the boys and 600 and especially the one for the cat. You know, it’s nice to get them back on the top.”

Mechanics

The record-breaking winner praised his mechanics for their work throughout practice week: “Just pick hats off to the lads, you know, we bikes dangling along nicely there. I enjoyed it. It just took me a lap or two to dial into it.”

Reflecting on his landmark achievement, Dunlop said: “Main thing is, we got a win today, 30th TT win, which is pretty special too.”

The podium was completed by Dean Harrison and veteran rider James Hillier.
