Eight Arrested For Entering Closed Roads

Police say eight people were arrested on Friday for entering closed TT roads, including three on pushbikes, despite officers issuing a clear reminder only the day before.

The Constabulary said entering a closed section of the TT Course, whether riding, driving or walking, puts riders, spectators, marshals and the individual themselves at risk, and anyone caught may be placed before the next available court.

Officers said they will continue working with marshals to prosecute closed road breaches, particularly where safety is compromised, and urged the public not to “ruin today’s racing by making unsafe choices”.

Police also repeated their call to respect the island’s volunteer marshals, describing them as pivotal to the safe running of the TT.

The public is being asked to follow marshal instructions and cooperate fully to help protect competitors, spectators and the wider event.
