The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue service is alerting the public that Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are posing a fire hazard.
Ford customers in the UK have received a warning from the company the electric vehicle.
The high voltage battery of these vehicles may have some cells that could potentially develop an internal short circuit.
Don’t Charge Them
Ford encourage customers to continue driving their vehicles as normal using the petrol engine.
However, it warns that the battery should not be charged under any circumstances due to the potential fire hazard.
Ford engineers are working with high priority to develop new software to remedy this potential condition.
This is anticipated to be available in the second quarter of 2025.
