Isle of Man Energy will run a planned emergency response exercise at its gas sphere site next to Douglas Harbour next week.
The 90‑minute exercise on Thursday (July 23), starting at 2pm, is being carried out with the island’s emergency services to test on‑site systems and ensure teams are fully prepared to respond safely in the event of a real incident.
Members of the public may notice emergency vehicles and personnel in the area, but the company says there is no risk to the public.
The scenario will involve Isle of Man Energy staff working alongside the Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, Civil Defence, Coastguard, the Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate and potentially the Constabulary.
No blue lights or sirens will be used, and only minimal disruption is expected.
Managing Director Aidan Baglow said safety remains the company’s highest priority, adding that exercises like this strengthen working relationships with emergency services and help identify areas for improvement.
