Emergency services extract trapped person from car

Over the weekend, emergency services extracted a person from a car following a road traffic collision.

At approximately 2pm on Saturday (June 15) fire crews from Ramsey and Laxey stations attended a road traffic collision that happened near the Rest and be Thankful, Slieau Lewaigue, Maughold.

On arrival it was found that paramedics were treating one casualty trapped in the car by their injuries.

Space creation was carried out by the emergency services, and the roof was removed from the vehicle for extrication, allowing the casualty to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The vehicle was made safe so it could be recovered and the road reopened.
