A new display exploring the history of churches and chapels in the south has opened at Rushen Heritage Centre.
Churches and Chapels in the South: Past and Present highlights well‑known sites such as Mount Tabor in Port St Mary and St Peter’s in Cregneash, alongside long‑lost chapels including Fisher’s Hill and Kentraugh.
Curated by Ali Graham with volunteers Jane Saywell and Glenda Murphy, the exhibition runs until Saturday, July 4. The centre, on Bridson Street in Port Erin, is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Admission is free.
Ali said the research had been “fascinating” and hoped the display would spark memories of Sunday School picnics and anniversary services.
The next exhibition, opening July 7, will look at the golden age of tourism in Port Erin and Port St Mary.
