This morning (May 2), fire crews from Douglas were called to reports of a flat fire at 8:20am on Head Road.
Once in attendance the officer in charge committed a BA team into the heavily smoke logged property to extinguish a small fire.
The fire service says the cause was due to a discarded cigarette.
The service has reminded the public to ensure cigarettes are properly disposed of.
