The island’s Fire and Rescue Service is now recruiting for wholetime firefighters at Douglas station.
It is also looking for retained crews at stations around the island.
The wholetime roles come with a salary of £34,471.20 per annum + an additional £5,345.64 on call allowance after initial training.
However, wholesome firefighters are required to live within two miles of Douglas Fire Station or within the Douglas town boundary.
You can see if it is your sort to thing by attending a come and try it session at Douglas Fire Station on Monday September 23 and Thursday October 3, there is also a female only come and try session on Tuesday October 1 between 6:15pm and 8pm.
Retained
Retained fire crews get a salary of £7,968.66 plus additional fees for training sessions, courses and fire calls.
You must also live within two miles of, or within the town boundary of your chosen fire station.
