A deep low currently near Nova Scotia will track across the Atlantic over the weekend bringing gale to severe gale force winds on Sunday morning.
Southerly gusts of 60-70 mph are expected through Sunday morning before easing, but remaining strong, through the afternoon.
This is likely to result in fallen branches/trees, minor structural damage and some disruption to travel.
As a result the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.
It will be in place from 4am to 3pm on Sunday.
The Met Office said this will affect areas island wide, with worst of winds on higher ground.
