Old Firm to Clash as Peel Plot Course for Title

Peel can take a step closer to a second title in three seasons if they can beat rivals Rushen United this weekend.

The westerners are three points clear of Corinthians in second with a game in hand going into this weekend.

Standing in their way are the Spaniards who, after an iffy start to the season, have only lost once in the league since November.

Peel’s nearest rivals Corinthians, who lost to Union Mills last time out, welcome Foxdale to Ballafletcher this weekend as they look to keep in touch with the leaders.

Title Contenders

Foxdale have secured their top flight status in their first season back up, but have not looked at their best recently.

At the bottom of the league, St Georges host St Mary’s in a battle of the saints as Geordies look to dig themselves out of relegation trouble.

Their nearest rivals in the battle to avoid the drop are Onchan, who are also at home to St John’s.

Woods Cup

The promotion battle in Division Two takes a back sea this weekend as the Woods Cup quarterfinals take precedence.

Colby welcome Douglas Royal for what will likely be one of the more interesting ties of the round, while Old Boys take on the long trip to Michael United.

The other ties see Pulrose host runaway league leaders Braddan while RYCOB face a tough test with the visit of Castletown.

Governor’s Athletic face Douglas & District in the only league game of the weekend.
