The Isle of Man Fungus Group were welcomed back to Government House for a third year to record the many different fungi species found in the surrounding grounds.
The group identified 43 species, one of them potentially being a new species for the Island called Poison Pie (Hebeloma Theobrominum).
They are awaiting for official confirmation by their Scottish fungus guru, Nev, but Government House hopes this identification is correct.
There are only 47 records of Poison Pie in Britain, so this is very uncommon!
Government House thanks the Chair of the Isle of Man Fungus Group, Liz Charter, and her fellow mycophiles, for sharing their fascinating knowledge.
