A key player in the island’s e/i-gaming sector is looking to shed jobs.
NEON which is part of the family of firms made famous by the Microgaming name, has written to staff asking for voluntary redundancies.
Correspondence seen by Manx.News states that that the company is opening up a period of “Enhanced Voluntary Redundancy”.
It appears that this is a preemptive attempt to reduce staff numbers before the firm is forced to make compulsory redundancies.
Compulsory Redundancies
The communication to staff invites applications for the voluntary redundancy as a way of “mitigating the requirement for compulsory redundancies”.
Staff members were told they have until 12 noon on the 20th September to apply for the ‘Enhanced Voluntary Redundancy’.
NEON is based at the Microgaming building ‘Evergreen House’, on Circular Road in Douglas.
