A yellow weather warning has been put in place for Sunday with severe gale force winds set to batter the island.
The gale to severe gale force west will be veering northwest winds giving gusts of 50-60mph, and around 65mph in a few places.
The strongest winds are likely between late morning and late afternoon, with some travel disruption and possibly tree damage (although peak wind strengths will be around 10-15mph less than Storm Darragh).
Later in the evening and overnight into Monday winds will steadily ease.
The warning is in place from 3am to 11pm on Sunday.
