Gran Fondo Unveils Bold New Off-Road Route

Gran Fondo Isle of Man has revealed a completely redesigned route for 2026, marking a new era for the island’s iconic cycling challenge.

After ten years as a road-focused event, the course now stretches from Ramsey to Port Erin, covering approximately 60 miles of constantly changing terrain that includes tarmac, gravel, forest roads, green lanes, historic railway lines, and technical off-road sections.

Riders will face key sectors such as a disused former RAF base, the Curraghs, the Railway Line, Eary Cushlin, and Surby, testing bike-handling skills, stamina, and strategy throughout the journey.

The finale offers a dramatic clifftop descent over Bradda Head before finishing by the sea at Port Erin Bay, staying true to the Gran Fondo philosophy of rewarding patience, judgement, and adventure over pure speed.

Full route details are now live, with entries opening on February 25.
