Nicola Libreri has been appointed as the new deputy CEO of the Gambling Supervision Commission.
Mrs Libreri, who joined the GSC in 2018, has led the commission’s newly created AML/CFT Division, focusing on inspections, enforcement, policy, and outreach.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Rutherford said he was “delighted to announce we’ve appointed Nicola as my deputy” adding that she has “played a key role over the last year in strengthening the GSC’s AML/CFT oversight and will continue to drive forward initiatives to support the sector’s understanding of emerging risks”.
Sector
Under her leadership, the GSC has invested significantly in AML/CFT training and built dedicated teams to improve compliance across the sector.
Mrs Libreri said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role.
“The threat of ML/TF is constantly evolving and we need to keep on top of new and emerging risks. It is vital to ensure we maintain the safety of the sector and the jurisdiction.”
