Four talented gymnasts from Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club travelled to Newcastle to compete in the “Lights, Camera, Action” grades competition.
The event saw participation from clubs across the UK, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, and Redcar.
Representing Ellan Vannin in the Performance Grade 1 (Age 10) category were Jessica Shannon and Ava Quirk.
Outstanding Performances
Both gymnasts delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating their skills across all apparatus.
Jessica Shannon achieved a remarkable All-Around score of 61.350, securing second place overall, narrowly missing the first place by only 0.05 points.
Ava Quirk also impressed with her strong routines, earning a score of 59.100 and finishing in fifth place.
She finished 1st on bars, 4th on vault, 6th on beam, 7th on floor and 9th on range and conditioning.
Strong Field of Gymnasts
In the Performance Grade 2 (Age 11) category, Lora Markova and Lara Goosen took to the floor, competing against a strong field of gymnasts.
Lora Markova showcased her consistency and precision, earning a well-deserved second place in the All-Around standings with a score of 61.100.
Lara Goosen also delivered high-quality performances across the events she competed in. She finished 3rd on bars and beam, and 4th on vault and range and conditioning.
The gymnasts are coached by Valery Molchanov and Stacey Garrett, with Valery traveling with the team to the competition.
Bringing The Action
The competition was a fantastic opportunity for the Ellan Vannin gymnasts to test their skills against top-level competitors in preparation for the island grades competition later this month.
Their dedication and hard work were evident in their performances, and they did their club proud with their achievements.
