Billy Harris has stormed into the quarter final at the Cassis Open Provence.
The former Albany and Castletown player beat Eliakim Coulibaly in straight sets.
With each player holding their serve through the first set’s early exchanges, Harris make the breakthrough as he broke Coulibaly’s service in the eight game.
Harris had the chance to serve out the set, but was pegged back to 5-4 by Coulibaly after some uncharacteristic errors.
With nothing to separate them, the set was 6-6 and went to a tie break, which Harris won comfortably to take the set 7-6.
Second Set
Harris marched through the second set, breaking Coulibaly’s serve early to lead 5-2 with a chance to serve out the game.
With his opponent forcing his way back to deuce, Harris won the advantage as Coulibaly swung wide before Harris served out the game to win the set 6-2 and the match 7-6, 6-2.
Harris will now go on to play the winner of the all French match between Antoine Escoffier and Mae Malige.
