Billy Harris has made it through to the first round proper of the US Open.
Harris lost his third qualifying round match 6-3 6-4 against Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong.
However, Harris’ hard work in reaching the final qualifying round paid off as he was granted a lucky loser entry.
A lucky loser is a player picked out to replace someone who withdraws from the tournament after the qualifying event has started.
As a result, Harris will face Canadian 25th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
It will not only mark the first time a Manx player has played at the US Open but the first time Harris has made the main draw too.
The match will be played on Monday.
