Dean Harrison has continued his impressive qualifying form, lapping at 133.712mph from a standing start in Wednesday evening’s session.
Ideal conditions greeted competitors once more, with the Honda Racing rider strengthening his position as pre-race favourite.
Peter Hickman increased his pace to 132.039mph, placing him second on the Superbike leaderboard.
Michael Dunlop however endured a difficult evening. After a slow opening sector, his first lap registered just 127.869mph before he pitted immediately. Switching to his Superstock BMW, Dunlop pulled off at Quarterbridge and returned to the Grandstand.
In the Superstock class, Josh Brookes was quickest on the opening lap at 131.943mph, clear of Ian Hutchinson (130.691mph) and Nathan Harrison (130.240mph).
The Supersport session saw Dunlop rebound. His opening lap of 128.764mph was almost 24 seconds quicker than second-placed Dean Harrison, the Northern Irishman then improved to 129.557mph on his second lap.
The evening’s Sidecar session was red-flagged within five minutes when Ryan and Callum Crowe came off the road at Crosby.
Their team later said both brothers were receiving care at Noble’s Hospital for fractures and head injuries.
Thursday is a rest day, with the next qualifying session scheduled for 10:30am on Friday.
