The independent Examining Body has confirmed the final dates for public meetings and hearings on the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm application.
Between July 13 and 17, a public meeting and three Specific Issue Hearings will be held at the Villa Marina and the Comis.
Anyone can register to speak at a Public Meeting or Specific Issue Hearing, provided they give at least five working days’ notice. Registration allocates a timeslot to speak at the Public Meeting and on points outlined at the Specific Issue Hearings.
Following public feedback, the final Public Meeting will be held in Douglas on Monday July 13, 4pm, at the Villa Marina, Promenade Suite.
Three Specific Issue Hearings will be held at the Comis Golf Club at 10am: Wednesday July 15 – Seascape, Landscape and Visual Impact and Groudle Glen; Thursday July 16 – Environmental Matters; and Friday July 17 – draft Marine Infrastructure Consent and Strategic Matters.
An accompanied site inspection will take place on Tuesday, with attendance by invitation only.
Menaka Sahai, Chair of the Examining Body, said: “Our role is straightforward. We are not here to promote the application, and we are not here to oppose it. We have been appointed to examine it thoroughly and impartially.”
She added: “We have not reached any conclusions on the application, and we will not do so until the examination has closed in September.”
The examination will move into the reporting phase after July, with the Examining Body preparing its recommendation to the Council of Ministers.
