Braddan Commissioners hosted Manx Care staff’s Wellbeing Day at The Roundhouse earlier this month.
By happy coincidence, it was also International Nurses Day and the start of Mental Health Awareness Week.
It gave dedicated Manx Care staff an opportunity to relax and recharge ahead of what will no doubt be a frenetic TT Week.
Wellbeing Day
The activities on offer were carefully thought out, ranging from super relaxing; Yoga, Soundbath and Meditation to the more energetic; pickleball, fencing and playground games.
The Riversea Sauna and Inner Alchemy’s ice bath set up at the rear of the building early in the morning as part of the inaugural wellness event.
The majority of the sessions were donated either free of charge or at a reduced rate by the instructors to benefit Manx Care staff.
Activities included:-
- Breathwork and cold water therapy, with Ian Kirk from Inner Alchemy followed by a session in the Riversea mobile sauna
- Meditation with Mike Kewley
- Soundology with Amy Howse
- Yoga with Esther Jones
- Pilates with Claire Kinrade
- Playground Games with Active Souls
- Have a go at pickleball
- Manx Academies of Arms, Armour & Defensive Arts
- Bushcraft with Oliver
In addition, to the above, Businesses at The Roundhouse generously provided some great special offers on the day including:-
- A special meal deal from Caffee Roundhouse
- 20% discount from Aalid Feie Beauty Studio, with Bond Jewellery Co in salon
- Free soft play sessions for Manx Care families
