A horse and rider were injured in Archallagan after a loose dog chased them through the plantation.

The alleged dog attack occurred yesterday (September 20) afternoon in Archallagan Plantation.
A person has claimed that “mid to large size black dog came out of nowhere” and began barking and running at horse and rider.
They say that in an attempt to get away, the horse went into the woodland and fell over into trees, “the rider was thrown against another tree”.
The dog allegedly continued to bark and go for the horse, but no owner was seen.
Injured
After the torment from the dog, the horse got up and kicked the dog away.
There is a concern over the welfare of the dog as it was “soundly kicked, possibly more than once as it kept coming”.
The rider “sustained a blow to head, shoulder and elbow injury with several cuts lost vision momentarily and has a rising lump on head”.
