The Home of Rest for Old Horses is appealing for support after essential machinery broke down, impacting its ability to care for nearly 60 animals across 90 acres.
The small team, consisting of just four women, manages 45 horses, 10 donkeys, 2 goats, and numerous chickens.
They rely heavily on a tractor and quad bike to feed the animals, move hay bales, and maintain the land.
“We need your help to raise some much-needed funds to fix our machinery,” a spokesperson said
The breakdown has left the charity struggling to carry out daily tasks.
“Therefore, we need some mechanical assistance from our tractor and quad to help navigate the land, feed the animals, move bales, and maintain good land management,” they added.
With repair costs beyond their means, the team has turned to the public for help.
“Unfortunately, they have both broken, and we can’t afford to fix them anymore,” the spokesperson said. “Anything that you can donate to us to help would be much appreciated.”
