Chief Minister Alfred Cannan has been asked how the island should celebrate Sir Mark Cavendish’s record breaking Tour de France win.
The Manx Missile won a 35th stage on Le Tour, eclipsing the record he held with Belgian Eddy Merckx’s.
Arguably the island’s greatest ever sportsman, Cav was knighted in his year’s Birthday Honours List and the NSC cycleway, where his journey to sporting immortality began, is to be renamed in his honour.
However, Tim Glover (Arbory, Castletown and Malew) wants to know what else the Manx government has in mind.
The written question is due to be answered later this month.
