Coroner of Inquests James Brooks has opened and adjourned the inquest into the death of Robert George Kissack.
Mr Kissack, 22, an agricultural worker, died in the early hours of December 29 2024 after being hit by a car in Onchan.
The court heard that Police were called to the LA Straight on Whitebridge Road, opposite the Fun Farm, at 3:31am on Sunday December 29.
It was here that Mr Kissack, a pedestrian, was struck by a car which was occupied by a driver and two passengers, who had began resuscitation attempts on Mr Kissack.
Police took over these attempts under paramedics arrived and took Mr Kissack to Nobles Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced deceased at 4:31am.
The court heard that the driver of the car was arrested and bailed following Mr Kissack’s death.
Mr Brooks said following a post mortem, it had been confirmed Mr Kissack died of head and chest injures.
The doctor who carried out the post mortem said Mr Kissack “likely” died on impact.
Mr Brooks adjourned the inquest sine die and extended his condolences to Mr Kissack’s family.
