Tim Earl, a lifelong wildlife-watcher and author, will be leading a 4 night residential bird watching course on the Calf of Man giving an introduction to birdwatching.
There a limited number of spaces available for the course which takes place from May 3 to May 7.
Aron Sapsford, the Calf Ornithological Warden, who has a long association with the Calf, will also be on hand to answer any questions and to demonstrate the bird ringing that takes place, subject to suitable weather conditions.
Calf of Man
A return boat journey from Port St Mary via the seabird colonies at Sugarloaf will be included in the package, along with the self-catering hostel standard accommodation in the 1878 Calf of Man farmhouse where the Bird Observatory is located.
Accommodation is limited and course participants will be required to share either a 2 or a 4 bed bunk room with others of the same gender.
Participants will be encouraged to cater communally for their main meal where possible and with the agreement of those applying for the course, contact details of attendees will be shared in advance to allow meals to be planned.
Food and accommodation are included, guests must bring stout footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather, no dogs.
