Manx Care has celebrated a welfare service providing psychological and emotional support to the road racing community.
The organisation praised the positive collaboration between itself, the Ambulance Service, Manx Road Racing Medical Services, and the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund initiative TORQ.
The service is designed specifically to provide psychological and emotional support to road racing competitors, their families, and marshals.
Following Dan’s tragic passing, the charity was founded to ensure no member of the road racing community faces the mental and emotional challenges alone.
Partnership
Through a unique partnership with Rock2Recovery, TORQ has developed into a welfare service offering support to anyone affected by a serious racing incident, helping individuals navigate the often complex psychological impact of the sport.
This year, the partners have “successfully developed and embedded clear care pathways for patients and those impacted,” ensuring “seamless care across the entire patient journey – from emergency response through to specialist psychological aftercare”.
Manx Care said: “Together, we are making a tangible difference – providing timely, tailored support that strengthens resilience and wellbeing within the racing community.”
The organisations added they are “excited to continue growing these vital partnerships”.
