A UCM engineering student has been recognised for his academic achievements after receiving a prestigious award from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Jakub Garczynski was awarded the IET Merseyside and Western Cheshire Local Network Prize, which recognises outstanding commitment and performance in engineering studies.
The Isle of Man falls within the network’s area, and the award follows fellow UCM student Ryan Christian receiving the prize last year.
Commitment to Engineering
Jakub, who studied for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in General Engineering at UCM, was recognised for his strong academic performance and commitment to developing his engineering knowledge and skills.
According to UCM, he achieved distinction grades in many subjects and consistently exceeded the core requirements of his assignments.
He was also praised for his technical and report-writing abilities, as well as the contributions he made during his studies by drawing on personal engineering experience.
One of his standout achievements came at the end of his HNC course when he presented his project work to an audience of engineering specialists.
UCM said the presentation was regarded as one of the best seen, highlighting his technical understanding and communication skills.
As part of the award, Jakub received a certificate of achievement, a monetary prize and the opportunity to engage further with the IET’s professional community.
