Jobs go at major gaming firm

One of the worlds major gambling brands is believed to be shedding eight jobs at its office in the Isle of Man.

Bally’s Corporation is an international gaming, betting, and interactive entertainment company based in the United States and also operates casinos across the USA.

The firm came to the Isle of Man in 2021 as Gamesys Group, which then rebranded to Bally’s Interactive when it became part of Bally’s Corporation.

They are famous for some award-winning bingo and online casino brands such as Virgin, Monopoly, Heart, Vera & John and Jackpotjoy.

Today it is understood the firm has given notice of redundancy to around eight employees in the Manx office.

Manx.news understands that the firm employs around twenty five people in the Island and the jobs affected are said to be in the ‘Operations’ department.

Vegas

Visitors to Las Vegas will have become familiar with Bally’s Casino on the famous Strip, however this property has since become ‘The Horseshoe’ with Bally’s now owning the ‘Tropicana’.

The Isle of Man office of the Bally’s Group relates to the ‘Interactive’ part of the groups business,

It is not clear as to the reasons for the scaling back of the Isle of Man based operation, but Manx.News has approached Bally’s for comment.

Regulation

e-gaming is one of the Isle of Man’s largest sectors and at its height employed over 1000 people. The Gambling Supervision Commission has issued over 80 e-gaming licences to businesses operating from the Island.

The promotion of e-gaming in the Isle of Man is carried out by the Department for Enterprise Digital Agency.
